Dear New Students : I want to welcome each of you to Dartmouth College ! You are about to begin one of the most exciting times in your life, and everyone in the Department of Safety and Security (DoSS) wants to help you make your Dartmouth Experience is a safe one. My name is Brianne Brichacek and I will be your instructor for the next weeks in this completely online course. This course runs August to December 17. Given the interesting times, Berkeley College facilities will look different. We will work together to maintain health and safety standards, while sustaining the academic excellence and personalized attention that is synonymous with a Berkeley College education.

I hope each of you enjoyed a restorative break and the opportunity to spend time with friends and family. As the new semester begins, I am eager – as I know you are – to immerse myself in the work ahead of us. To be sure, we have much to do. I hope that each of you enjoyed a summer filled with relaxation, new experiences, family and friends.


For my family and me, this was a summer to remember: we took a road trip up the coast of California, and we spent time with my entire extended family for my grandmother’s 90th birthday party in Iowa. I’m sure you are a bit nervous, maybe even scared. Submitted by Kirk Schulz.


This is the beginning of your journey, your future, you are in control. Dear Students : Welcome back to K-State! If you are new to one of our campuses, we want you to feel at home as part of the K-State family. Yes, it is OK (but not required) to wear purple every day.


Letting students and parents know that they matter from the first day of school is key to building a supportive and empathetic community. Todd Nesloney, principal of Navasota Intermediate in Texas, sends his students and their parents a letter before school even starts to let them know that they are appreciated and valued. As the summer comes to a close and we prepare together for the coming academic year, I wish to take this opportunity to welcome you all back to Georgetown.


The start of the year is always a special time on our campus, with new students and faculty, new relationships, new scholarship and exciting conversations beginning anew after the summer months. The Graduate Life Office will welcome you in person with New Graduate Student Orientation activities. And of course, you will have opportunities to venture further off campus and explore the ocean, mountains, redwood forests, and the Bay Area’s dynamic and diverse cities of San Francisco, Oaklan and San Jose.
