How to address the honorable in a letter

How do you address a judge in a letter? The rule is – once an honorable , always an honorable – unless removed from office something ugly or resigning in disgrace. Formally in official situations they are orally addressed in a salutation and conversation as ‘Mr. The Honorable,is not combined with other honorifics, ranks or titles in the USA.
